What a nice surprise to find Waterdeep’s Pink & Blue Ep’s arrive in the mail this week! So far I am having a hard time getting to Don’s Blue portion as I am have been listening to Lori’s Pink Ep. So for now, let me share my favorite cut from the Pink Ep: Life of the Party
The alt-folk group Waterdeep returns to the scene with Pink & Blue, a two-EP set founding members Don and Lori Chaffer say was inspired by their two children. “When Lori and I launched into the making of Pink & Blue, we had an itch to scratch,” says Don Chaffer, who wrote the Blue disc, the companion to his wife’s Pink disc. “Our toddling children were unconsciously pushing us to write stuff that rocked a little harder.” Pink & Blue will be available at all major digital outlets and at the band’s web store.
“You And The Evenging Sky” is is the 3rd release from Alli Rogers and it is further proof that there are many hidden treasures among independant artists. I was eager to listen to this release when I saw that Don Chafer of Waterdeep handled the production of the album. While the album sounds great, Don let’s her unique voice come through without the album sounding like a Waterdeep album.
Lyrically you will find themes of faith, love and how we relate to each other. Whenever I listen to an unfamiliar album I often will use the skip button, but not so on this one.
”My favorite songs were “Carry a Light” and “At Sea”
You can listen to At Sea here
