> dizmas – dizmas album review

Dizmas have an album of catchy, radio ready pop/rock songs (with a little bit of an edge) and lyrics that convey their struggles in life , hope in God and need of a Saviour.

To be honest with you I was expecting something else musically from this band. From previous reviews I was expecting a little harder rock.
I knew they were signed to Credential Recordings for their last album Tension and Forefront must have seen where the band was heading musically; and was ready for a larger audience. The result is 4 songs from their last album Tension ( Shake It Off, Play It Safe, This Is a Warning & Jealousy Hurts) and one song from their debut (Redemption, Passion, Glory), along with 5 new songs (Yours, Save the Day, Different, Worth Fighting For & Dance). This may account for why the album sounded so strong from start to finish.

The single Yours is already hitting some charts (weekend 22 and christianrock.net)

A little postscript about the name apparently Dizmas. Tradition says that Dismas was the “good” thief crucified next to Jesus.

This is one of those releases that came out late in 2007 with little fanfare. That is too bad because I expect great things from this band when the full length is released in 2008

> edison glass – new songs

Edison Glass have posted 3 songs from an upcoming 2008 album “Time is Fiction” on their Myspace page. The new songs “Let Go”, “All our Memories” & “Cold Condition” sound better than anything on their highly regarded debut album “A Burn or a Shiver”. An ep with these songs on it is due on itunes any day now.
