> the fold – “stargazer ep” review

I’ve got a pocket-full of reasons why I need you by my side”

                                                      -Good Goodnight

The Stargazer EP has been in constant rotation on my Zune since it’s August 26 release. Amidst a summer full of Ep’s this one has engaged me more than I expected. The EP’s point of reference starts with the song ” Faster Still” off their last full length ‘Secrets Keep You Sick’. The first three songs on ” Stargazer” being more experimental, electronic and a departure from the power-pop we have come to expect . The last song being the beautiful acoustic song “Little Girl”. The Fold have suceeded in giving us something different and more than a pocketful of reasons to look forward to their next release.

  1. I fully agree, it really is an awesome EP!!

Although I fear they ‘stole’ (or didn’t, who knows) a lyric line from Thrice in the third track, the line (which is simply great) being:

“Every scar is a bridge to someone else’s broken heart.”

It’s from Thrice’s song “For Miles” which appeared on the “Vheissu” album:

“And as long as we live, every scar is a bridge to someone’s broken heart. And there’s no greater love, than that one shed his blood for his friends.”
