Today is National Record Store Day!
If like me you still like to go somewhere to find music and like the aesthetic that an independent record store provides, be sure to seek out one of the cool independent shops in your locale.
We will be going to Vertigo Music that has a slate of bands, food and some cool sponsors. If we want these places to exist and thrive then we will need to support these places more than one day a year.
So here are a few things you could pick up today at your local shop. For all you old school, middle-age type go pick up REM’s Accelerate . If you are into punk / hardcore and are ready move to another level the new Thrice: Alchemy Index Vol. 3 & 4 might fit the bill. If you want to be old school and currently hip head over to the vinyl section and find something like Sufjan Stevens Illinois
